Der Journalist und Autor Jürgen Teipel hat in den letzten 3 Jahren mit über 100 maßgeblichen Akteuren der Jahre 1976-1982 geredet und ca. 1000 Stunden Interviewmaterial ausgewertet. Die Aussagen der beteiligten Personen (u.a. Campino, Nina Hagen, Peter Hein, Jäki Eldorado, FM Einheit, Inga Humpe) wurden in einen zusammenhängenden, nach Jahren chronologisch geordneten Text gebracht. Das Buch vermittelt unmittelbar die Aufbruchsstimmung, den Spaß und die Energie des Punk, aber auch die unglaubliche Gewalt innerhalb und außerhalb der Szene (permanente Schlägereien mit Teds, Rocker, Hooligans). Mit einigen Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografien und einem Epilog über die Jahre 1983-2001. Im Anhang interessante bibliographische Notizen zu den Interviewten und eine gute Zeittafel der Jahre 1976-1983 (mit Single- und LP-Veröffentlichungen).
