Die meist vom Fachautor mituntersuchten Fälle sind spektakulär, teils bekannt (Kachelmann, Barschel, Yagmur). Der Text ist gut lesbar, verständlich, folgerichtig, die Darstellung rund und informativ. Dem Lektor entgingen wenige Druckfehler. Das übersichtliche Inhaltsverzeichnis ist sprechend, Register und Verweise auf weitere Literatur zum Thema fehlen leider. Mit dem wiederholten Begriff "Faszination" grausiger Fälle geben sie dem Buch morbiden Charakter - zum Verkauf nötig? Problematische Aspekte rechtsmedizinischer Bücher erscheinen vereinzelt: Informationen, die zu Verbrechen oder Selbsttötung missbraucht werden können und teils zu drastische Schilderungen. Der Preis ist für schlichte Ausstattung mit wenigen Schwarz-Weiß-Fotos angemessen. (2-3)
