Inhalt: The Copper Inuit occupied the coastal and adjoining inland regions of much of Victoria Island and the opposite shores of the Canadian Arctic mainland. They had no name for themselves as a group, so the identification of these people as a group is a Western construct based on their association with deposits of copper. This file consists of 38 documents with a time coverage from prehistoric times up to the 1990s

Serie: Research on managing groups and teams, v. 10
Inhalt: Affective phenomena permeate group life. When individuals work together in groups, feelings of pride, fear, hope, anger, and anxiety constantly emerge and have a profound influence on group member behavior. The experience and expression of moods and emotions shape whether group members form close bonds with one another, how they negotiate roles and status differences, resolve their conflicts, make decisions, and ultimately whether they accomplish their collective goals. After a long history of focusing on cognitive and behavioral processes, group researchers are beginning to take more seriously the role of affective phenomena. This tenth volume of Research on Managing Groups and Teams brings together some of the top researchers studying the interplay of groups and affect. The works presented examine how groups influence individual members emotional experiences; in turn, how a groups success depends on the emotions and emotional capabilities of its members; how moods and emotions mediate the effects of demographic diversity in groups, the emergence of intra-group conflict, and the attachment individuals feel to their groups; and, how emotions foster divisions between groups, organizations, or even societies. This book is of interest to anyone seeking to better understand group dynamics, the social nature of moods and emotions, or the ways in which affective phenomena can be leveraged to increase human performance and productivity. This book series is available electronically at website.

Inhalt: "So you're the one getting this gift? Lucky you! Someone who knows you has visited the museum. They searched out things they thought you would care about, and they took photos and left messages for you." This is the welcoming message for the Gift app, designed to create a very personal museum visit. Hybrid Museum Experiences use new technologies to augment, expand or alter the physical experience of visiting the museum. They are designed to be experienced in close relation to the physical space and exhibit. In this book we discuss three forms of hybridity in museum experiences: incorporating the digital and the physical, creating social, yet personal and intimate experiences, and exploring ways to balance visitor participation and museum curation. The book reports on a three-year cross-disciplinary research project in which artists, design researchers and museum professionals have collaborated to create technology-mediated experiences that merge with the museum environment.

Inhalt: Forecasts of economic variables like GDP, inflation and unemployment are the starting points for budget planning. Most OECD countries have designated an independent fiscal institutions to scrutinise or endorse the economic forecasts prepared by finance ministries. Although external assessments of past forecast errors can help uncover systematic bias or underperformance in official forecasts, there are several conceptual and practical problems with doing so that limit their usefulness. This paper describes the limitations of ex post forecast assessments and offers some suggestions on how independent fiscal institutions can add the most value in providing them
