Die kleine, enge Straße gerät in Aufruhr und in Minas Kopf vermischen sich der Dreißigjährige Krieg, die täglichen Nachrichten über Krieg und Terror mit der anschwellenden Aggression in der Nachbarschaft. Als auch noch eine Krähe in ihre nächtliche Einsamkeit gerät, die sie Munin nennt und mit der sie ein Gespräch über Gott und die Welt beginnt, ist das Chaos in Minas Kopf komplett. „Vor allem aber ist "Munin oder Chaos im Kopf" ein Buch zwischen Literatur und Leitartikel. Maron gibt sich keine große Mühe, ihre Ich-Erzählerin von sich selbst abzurücken. Angeblich soll Mina Wolf eine Endvierzigerin sein. Sie wirkt aber deutlich älter und räsoniert eben so, wie Maron es tut, wenn sie sich in den Medien zu Wort meldet... Was dem Roman allerdings unterm Strich doch einige Souveränität verleiht und die Lektüre halbwegs reizvoll macht, ist die Klugheit und Leichthändigkeit, mit der die Themen und Motive miteinander verwoben werden. Der Nachbarschaftsstreit, der Dreißigjährige Krieg, die gefühlte oder wirkliche Bedrohung durch Migranten, das weise Gekrächz von Munin und das Krähengedicht der Annette von Droste-Hülshoff – das alles ist sehr beziehungsreich und hintergründig, auch wenn der erzählerische Vordergrund allzu dünn aufgetragen scheint. Erzählschwäche in Verbindung mit hoher Verknüpfungsintelligenz – damit erweist sich "Munin" als charakteristisches und doch auch charaktervolles Alterswerk“ (deutschlandfunk.de)
