Wer sich über Schröders Darstellung "großer Entwicklungslinien und Grundfragen" (Vorwort) hinaus zum Thema informieren möchte und stärker die geschichtliche Entwicklung des Landes im Auge hat, greife zu dem zwar nicht ganz so aktuellen, aber umfangreicheren und besser strukturierten Reclam-Band von Michael Maurer (ID-A 12/14). Die Erstauflage sollte makuliert werden.
