Content: Um ihren Vater zu retten, begibt sich eine schöne junge Frau in ein geheimnisvolles Schloss, das von einem rätselhaften Tier bewohnt wird. Während ihre Geschwister das Tier töten wollen, um sich an seinen Schätzen zu bereichern, nähert sie sich ihm mit Mitgefühl, und das Untier wird zum Prinzen. Der Film nach einem klassischen Märchenmotiv schafft mit seinen Masken und Dekorationen eine Aura des Fantastischen: aus den Wänden ragen lebende Arme, die Kandelaber halten, Statuen bewegen die Augen, und die Maske des Untiers bittet um Liebe.
