Freilich, die Ausführungen hätten oft auch der Veranschaulichung durch (Detail-)Abbildungen bedurft. Doch es gibt nur 15 doppelseitige Bildtafeln mit fein ausgeführten Zeichnungen von ausgewählten, z.T. in seltsamer Kombination zusammengeführten Bauwerken. Leider fehlt auch ein Glossar in dem schön gestalteten Buch. Junge Leser brauchen viel Durchhaltevermögen, um die immense Fülle an Sachinformationen und erzählten Geschichten zu bewältigen, zumal es mit der Balance zwischen beiden Strängen etwas hapert. . - Die Zwillinge Iris und Martin, 13, lernen auf einer Zeitreise durch die Geschichte der Architektur berühmte Bauwerke kennen und erleben dabei zahlreiche Abenteuer.
