Den Beginn des Winters und damit das Ende der Exkursionszeit nimmt ein Vater zum Anlaß, nun in vierzehn abendlichen Gesprächen die Bereiche aus der Naturkunde zu behandeln, von denen Vertreter oder Beispiele im Hause vorzufinden sind, von der Katze über den Goldfisch bis zum Hundebandwurm. Das Anliegen der Verfassers war, die "lern- und wißbegierige Jugend in möglichst lebendiger Darstellung zum naturwissenschaftlichen Denken an[zu]regen und ihr die Naturobjekte der nächsten Umgebung, vor allem also des väterlichen [!] Hauses, geistig und gemütlich näher[zu]bringen." Die gewählte Form des Dialogs mag veraltet sein, gibt der Verfasser zu, sie schien ihm aber für den erstrebten Zweck die am besten geeignete. (RS) 〈dt.〉
