Frauen, die heute in die Wechseljahre kommen, sind biologisch jünger als Frauen früherer Generationen, also benötigten die Wechseljahre "dringend ein längst überfälliges Update", so die Gynäkologin (Jahrgang 1969) mit eigener Praxis in Wiesbaden, deren erster Titel "Unverschämt" (ID-A 18/19) Bestseller wurde. Animierend lebhaft und erfahren erläutert sie basics rund um Wechseljahre, doch auch viel mehr - tatsächlich finden sich hier viele Aspekte und Details, die ich trotz reichlicher Leseerfahrung in vergleichbaren Titeln nicht fand. Sie beschönigt nicht und doch liest sich ihr Text ermutigend. Bekanntlich wird die WHO-Studie zur Hormonersatztherapie, die Hormone in Verruf brachte, inzwischen kritisch bewertet (vgl. Avrum Bluming: ID-G 24/19) - hierzu erläutert Sheila de Liz genau und profund die Möglichkeiten neuer bioidentischer Hormone auf pflanzlicher Basis, wobei sie die bislang dominierende "Rimkus-Methode" (u.a. Thomas Beck: ID-B 31/20) als unzulänglich, überholt beschreibt. Die gut erklärende, dabei locker plaudernde Vermittlung zum heissen Frauenthema dürfte überall gut nachgefragt werden. (2)
