    Content: Der renommierte Biologe, Hirnforscher und Autor (zuletzt BA 8/09) hat sich bereits mehrfach mit neueren Erkenntnissen der Hirnforschung auseinandergesetzt. Folgt man Hüther, so zeigen diese, dass das menschliche Gehirn, also auch das des Mannes, in seiner inneren Struktur und Organisation weit mehr veränderbar und anpassungsfähiger ist als bisher angenommen (ID 28/01). Jetzt befasst er sich mit den biologischen Grundlagen des männlichen Geschlechts und beschreibt dann den Prozess der Mannwerdung, von der Zeugung und Geburt über die Pubertät bis zu Vaterschaft, Karriere und dem Ausscheiden aus dem Beruf. Dabei geht er weit über das Referieren von Erkenntnissen der Biologie und der Hirnforschung hinaus. Vielmehr versucht er deutlich zu machen, dass der Mann ihn einengende Verhaltensmuster im Gehirn - etwa die Vorstellung, Karriere machen zu müssen - auch wieder auflösen kann und dass er neben seiner Natur des Männlichen die in ihn angelegten Potenziale selbst entwickeln kann.
