"Ein perfekter Freund" - das ist Lucas, der beste Freund des Journalisten Fabio Rossi, der mitten in einer brisanten Recherche auf offener Straße niedergeschlagen wurde und nun unter Gedächtnisverlust leidet. 7 Wochen fehlen ihm und die mühsame Rekonstruktion dieser Zeit befremdet ihn vor dem eigenen Ich, das bereits vor dem Überfall eigenartig verändert war. Die Gründe dafür kommen in einer rasanten Story um Korruption, Erpressung, Liebe und Verrat ans Licht, die im Forschermilieu angesiedelt ist. BSE-Erreger werden in Schokoriegeln gefunden und Rossi war den Urhebern auf der Spur. Natürlich geht es um sehr viel Geld. Lukas hat seine Recherchen vernichtet und erntet nun das tiefe Misstrauen Rossis, der glaubt, er habe ihm die heiße Story um den Öko-Skandal gestohlen. Die überraschende Schlusswendung rehabilitiert den Freund - allerdings erst nach seinem tragischen Selbstmord. Das Hörspiel (vgl. auch Lesung bei HörbucHHamburg, 2002) ist in schnellen Schnitten mit hervorragenden Sprechern spannend inszeniert. Trotz starker Kürzungen des Romans ist diese Hörversion allen uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.
