    Content: "The Highest Level" explores the Berlin recording session with Lang Lang and the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. In addition to the live recording of the concerts, the production also features a documentary which portrays the origin and development of the project. "We want to show ourselves as we make music", says Järvi, reflecting the ensemble's pedagogical mission to make classical music accessible to the young. Watch this documentary on medici.tv. Schumann as he has never been heard before! This and nothing else was the goal of Paavo Järvi and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen in the realization of their Schumann project; and according to the press and the audience there's no doubt that they've achieved their aim. After their internationally celebrated Beethoven cycle, this truly unique orchestra and its extraordinary principal conductor have now elaborated their vision of the artistic wealth of the Schumann symphonies. As the press wrote, "the symphonies seem to be newly born out of the spirit of dance, out of motion itself. Järvi's Schumann is above all played with tremendous excitement and enthusiasm" In a word: "The Bremen dream team under Järvi has just landed another major coup. As for Schumann, there is no way around the Kammerphilharmonie". As was to be expected of Paavo Järvi and the Kammerphilharmonie, this production features not only a simple concert recording. An extensive documentary provides insights into the origin and development of the project: "Schumann at Pier2" contains excerpts from rehearsals, comments on the works and their interpretation by Paavo Järvi, biographical information on Schumann, scenes featuring orchestral musicians (section leaders) demonstrating important passages and providing explanations on various facets of performance and interpretation. "We want to show ourselves as we make music", says Järvi. The concert recording also unfolded in an unconventional manner: in harmony with the ensemble's pedagogical mission to make classical music accessible to the young -- the orchestra rehearses in a school in an underprivileged Bremen neighborhood and was awarded a national prize for their work with youths -, the production took place at "Pier 2", a former storage building in the port of Bremen that is now used as a club and theater. The orchestra performed before a young audience on a specially designed stage, which also reflects the workshop character of the project

    Content: In the Spring of 2014, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, acclaimed and world-famous early music innovator and authority, and Lang Lang, a superstar pianist of stunning virtuosity and freeƯwheeling musical instincts, took over the Wiener Musikverein for an unprecedented musical meeting-of-the-minds between two very different artists. Together with the Wiener Philharmonik Orchester, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Lang Lang record the Mozart's Piano Concertos No. 17 in G major K. 453 and No. 24 in C minor K. 491. This film documents those recording sessions, offering revealing insight into the creative processes of two of today's most distinctive and influential musicians. Both artists found the collaboration to be rewarding. For Lang Lang, "every session with [Harnoncourt] is like a masterclass. He just gave me everything from his heart, and that direct connection in music-making is the most important inspiration for me". Nikolaus Harnoncourt reflected that, "It's rare to find someone who is so open-minded ... I can only work with soloists who are ready to develop a concept together with me, and very seldom have I experienced a reading of the work that developed so quickly."
