Abstract:
There are many different ways of viewing on object, but the gap between them is widening. And the messages received by the public at large often does not correspond to current scientific thinking/research. There is huge scope for improvement from a scientific point of view: revisiting objects can enable sew insights to be gained as long as one does not stick to traditional typological or esthetical rendings. For decades archaeologists have accumulated large amounts of data which have only rarely been called upon by them or by historiens and anthropologists. It is time to bring meaning to them.
