Mitschnitte von 11 dieser Gespräche. Das in gleicher Aufmachung erschienene Buch gibt noch mehr Personen Raum. Die 23 für den Druck redigierten und gestrafften Gesprächsauszüge (u.a. von Edgar Hilsenrath, Gotthilf Fischer, Coco Schumann, Gisela May), die jeweils von kurzen biografischen Notizen eingeleitet werden, vermitteln in farbig ausgemalten Episoden und Begegnungen und mit der kaum gefilterten Anschaulichkeit wörtlicher Rede einen sehr konkreten, plastischen Eindruck von der Vielschichtigkeit und Unterschiedlichkeit des persönlichen Erlebens in jenen Schicksalstagen. Für ein breites erinnerungsbedürftiges Lesepublikum neben anderen Sammlungen von Zeitzeugenberichten wie "Vormittags die ersten Amerikaner" (BA 5/05) oder "Alltag in Trümmern" (Berlin 2005, hier nicht besprochen) und ergänzend zu Sachdarstellungen wie "1945" von T.
