Abstract:
L'évangéliaire de Henri le Lion, créé entre 1185 et 1188, est un exemple éminent d'une représentation princière à la fin du XIIe s. Le manuscrit reflète la conscience qu'avaient d'eux-mêmes le duc et son épouse Mathilde, fille du roi Henri II d'Angleterre : leur pensée dynastique et politique, les corrélations entre généalogie et domination, leurs prises de position dans le cadre des mouvements religieux de l'époque. Le manuscrit est en même temps l'expression de la memoria rétrospective et prospective sous toutes ses formes, religieuses aussi bien que profanes.
