Transkulturelle Perspektiven 11
Content:
The image of the early modern Germany is still influenced by the perception of white actors. The recent historiography sees them increasingly people who acted against the backdrop of a pan-European horizon. But we can say like for people of African origin? The author analyzed for a German points of contact with the transatlantic slave trade and the Mediterranean and the North American slavery. Secondly, the study sets with traditional stereotypes about Africa and Africans apart, as they were taught in the written and visual media central time from 1600 to 1800. It examines the role of black people in the courts under central to courtly society criteria such as "dominion", "rank" and "representation." Beyond their formal legal positions at the courts, there are many references to integration and assimilation
