Der 5. Band der vom SHHB herausgegebenen Kulturführer-Reihe widmet sich der Hügel- und Seenlandschaft zwischen Kieler Förde und Lübecker Buche. Die historisch-kulturelle Entwicklung der Region, die gleichzeitig der größte Naturpark Schleswig-Holsteins ist, wird anhand kenntnisreicher Beschreibungen von 43 Städten und Gemeinden mit Lage, Natur, Geschichte, historisch bedeutsamen Gebäuden und Sehenswürdigkeiten deutlich. Die einleitenden Kapitel räumen dem Eutiner und dem Plöner Schloss sowie dem Kloster in Preetz einen Sonderplatz ein. Eine Vielzahl attraktiver Farbfotos und Gebietskarten macht den Band auch zu einem Schauvergnügen. Wie die bisher erschienenen Bände (zuletzt "Kulturlandschaft Eider-Treene-Sorge" und "... Flensburger Förde") gern empfohlen. Sowohl Einheimische wie Reisende erfahren in den Bänden dieser Reihe deutlich mehr über die regionale Kultur als in den Reiseführern der großen Verlage (z.B. A. Rumler: Schleswig-Holstein, DuMont-Kunstreiseführer, zuletzt Liste 07E16). (S. Gülck)
