Beim Bau des eigenen Holzhauses in Alaska entdeckte die Autorin vor Jahren den Spaß am Do-it-yourself und eigenen Möbelkonstruktionen. Mittlerweile veröffentlicht sie ihre Ideen auf einem erfolgreichen Schreiner-Blog, wo einige dieser Buchinhalte bereits erschienen sind. Angesprochen werden Einsteiger, aber auch geübte Heimwerker können bei den 34 Projekten fündig werden. Nach einer Einführung zu Werkzeug, Materialien und Grundtechniken (Zuschnitt, Montage, Endbehandlung) folgen die Möbelentwürfe thematisch nach Räumen geordnet, angefangen bei der Flurgarderobe bis zu Gartensesseln.
