Abstract:
This review considers possibilities for deriving plasma parameters and source structures of the solar chromosphere, transition region, and lower corona using observations in the centimeter and millimeter wave range. Model calculations for the S-component emission as well as for microwave bursts are described, and their diagnostic capabilities by comparison with observations are discussed.
