Der Journalist Jürgen Schreiber (zuletzt "Sie starb wie Che Guevara", BA 5/09) hat hier 20 Artikel, die überwiegend im "Tagesspiegel" erschienen sind, neu zusammengestellt. "Warum Menschen morden" heißt es auf der Titelseite, obwohl es sich bei mehreren Fällen nicht um Morde handelt wie z.B. "Der Millionen-Raubzug", in dem es um den Überfall auf das Märklin-Museum geht. Die Auswahl der Kriminalfälle wirkt recht willkürlich: Die Ermordung des Treuhand-Chefs Detlev Rohwedder steht neben einer doppelten Kindstötung in Frankfurt a.M., der Überfall auf die OPEC 1975 in Wien neben einem Fall von Blutrache unter türkischen Familien in Wiesbaden. Warum denn nun Menschen morden, kann der Autor auch nicht befriedigend erklären und geht darauf nur am Rand ein. Mit wenigen Sätzen werden einige der ehemaligen Zeitungsartikel aktualisiert. - Allenfalls Ergänzungsbestand. (3)
