Abstract:
In the psychoanalytic treatment of psychotics, it is difficult to find the right distance. Between fusion and rupture, ›the third‹ is often missing. In these severe cases, the introduction of a medium is often recommended. The psychoanalytic psychodrama, as it has been developed in psychoanalysis especially from the French-speaking world, offers theatre play as just such a medium. By incorporating acting into the analytic space, the therapist brings about a diffraction in the transferencial investment, thereby laying the groundwork for any genuine psychoanalytic treatment by making the interpretation of the transference possible. We would like to demonstrate this with some clinical examples.
