Défendant la pertinence d'une science psychologique de l'idéologie fondée sur la phénoménologie husserlienne, cette étude vise à la mise en évidence des processus cognitifs idéologiques à l'oeuvre dans la construction mentale de la laïcité française. Elle comprte deux étapes : tout d'abord une étude de représentation de la laïcité chez des étudaints alsaciens et franciliens permettant une identification de son contenu, de sa structure et le repérage de quelques traces de mécanismes idéologiques à l'oeuvre ; ensuite, une étude quasi-expérimentale ayant pour objectif de vérifier l'hypothèse selon laquelle les individus construiraient mentalement une image de la laïcité telle qu'elle échappe à toute mise en cause et perdure dans le temps. un jeu de filtres cognitifs d'occultation et d'exacerbation des données interviendrait à toute fin de préserver l'identité du système. En guise de résultats, l'étude de représentation révèle que la structure centrale de représentation de la laïcité est plutôt "molle" (l'objet de représentation en serait éventuellement plus résistant au changement) et ne diffère pas significativement en fonction de l'ancrage des sujets. Par ailleurs, ces recherches mettent bien en évidence le passage de la laïcité objet de culture (contingent) à une laïcité objet de nature (nécessaire)

Defending the pertinence of a psychological science od ideology, based on the Husserlian phenomenology, this study aims to bring to the fore ideological cognitive processes at work within the mental construction of the French laicity. It comprises two parts : firstly, a study of the representation of laicity by Alsacian and Francilian students, allowing an identification of its contents, of its structure, and spotting signs of ideological mechanisms at work ; secondly, a quasi-experimental study aiming to check the hypothesis that these individuals would mentally build up an image of laicity in such a way that not only is it subject to no questionning but it will endure in time. A cognitive interplay between ignoring and aover emphasising certain datum would intervene in order to preserve the identity of the present system. By the way of results, the study of representation reveals that the central structure of representation of laicity is quite "tender" (by this very fact, the objetc of representation would eventually be more resistant to change) and doesn't differ significativly between Alsacians ad Francilians. Moreover, these researches emphasize the intervention of an interplay of ideological cognitive filters applied to the mental construction of the Franch laicity. On the whole, these results thus sho the transfer of laicity, object of culture, to alaicity, object of nature
