Anders als der (irreführende) Untertitel ("Orgel, Tuba, E-Gitarre") erwarten lässt, werden auf jeweils einer Doppelseite nicht nur die Instrumente des klassischen Sinfonieorchesters beschrieben und in reihenüblich brillanten Fotos gezeigt, sondern auch historische und zahlreiche außereuropäische Instrumente sowie Instrumente der Rock- und Computermusik. Mit Glossar, Register und heraustrennbarem Poster. Die Vorauflage muss nicht zwingend ersetzt werden. Für die Altersgruppe ab 9 ist momentan nur noch G. Albrecht ("Musikinstrumente und wie man sie spielt", BA 10/03), das den Schwerpunkt auf die klassischen Orchesterinstrumente legt, erhältlich. Vor diesem empfohlen, auch für Schulbibliotheken.
