Ein umfangreiches Register, die grafische Gestaltung der inhaltlichen Unterteilung und hochwertige Grafiken und Fotografien machen diesen Band zu einem unverzichtbaren Titel zum Thema. Inhalt und Aufmachung laden zum Lesen und Nachschlagen ein und stellen zudem Zusammenhänge zwischen Mythen der Völker her. Zusätzliche Orientierung geben kleine Symbole an den Texten und Abbildungen, die sich auf den Inhalt des Mythos, Entstehungsort, Schauplatz der Handlung, Quellen, Verweisungen zu anderen Mythen und abweichende Namen beziehen. Eine sehr relevante Informationsquelle. Ersatz der Vorauflage aufgrund der zurückhaltenden Überarbeitung nur bei Verschleiß.
