    Content: Der Autor möchte mit diesem Buch einen möglichst objektiven Überblick über das pakistanische Atom-Programm geben. Vom Beginn der zunächst angestrebten zivilen Nutzung von Atomenergie 1955 bis zur Produktion waffenfähigen Plutoniums 2013 wird die Entwicklung der pakistanischen atomaren Rüstung beschrieben. Die Bedeutung der atomaren Rüstung für den indisch-pakistanischen Konflikt und terroristische Bedrohung wird dargelegt. Weiter geht der Autor auf nukleare Proliferation zum Beispiel nach Saudi-Arabien und die Sicherheit der Produktionsstätten nuklearen Materials ein. Der Autor vertritt die These, dass die Bedrohung durch Pakistans Kernwaffen minimiert werden könne, wenn Pakistan international als legitime Atommacht anerkannt werde, weil es dadurch in der Pflicht wäre, internationale Normen und Sicherheitsstandards anzuwenden.
