Die lange Tradition des Textildesigns an der BURG, die ganz im Zeichen des Entwurfs für die Serie steht, ist der Ausgangspunkt, um im Jubiläumsjahr der BURG einen aktuellen Blick auf das Textildesign von heute und morgen zu werfen. Experimentelle Abschluss- und Studienarbeiten stehen im Katalog neben textilen Produkten aus der Industrie und anderen Tätigkeitsbereichen des Textildesigns, die die Anwendung in der Serie präsentieren. Der zweisprachige Katalog (deutsch/englisch) beleuchtet anhand der übergreifenden Themen Tradition, Kulturtransfer, Farbe, Material, Technologie, Smart Textiles und Nachhaltigkeit die Faszination, Vielfalt und Komplexität textiler Werkstoffe. Dabei wird die interdisziplinäre Ausrichtung des Fachs Textildesigns deutlich: bei der Entwicklung von Stoffen wird stets deren Anwendbarkeit durch andere Disziplinen mitgedacht. Mit Textbeiträgen von Alexandra Braun/Filippe Natalio, Katharina Jebsen, Andrea Kluge, Bettina Göttke-Krogmann, Sophie Richter, Christiane Sauer, Katrin Schumacher/Ingo Uhlig, Steffen Sammler und Fredericke Winkler." -- "Textile design plays a profound but decisive role in the design of products, fashion, spaces and vehicles.
