    Umfang: Online-Ressource (80 p.) , 23 cm
Inhalt: "This summary represents an early draft of a report on tests of manual and mechanical abilities. In more normal times publication would have been deferred until the editorial work had been completed. The delay that would have been necessary because of the preoccupation of both authors with war work and the interest expressed by psychologists have led us to this present and perhaps premature publication"--Foreword. Inhalt: "The delinquent child is a child in trouble which is never wholly of his own making. Only by better understanding of how he came to do what he has done--to be what he is--can we apply effective measures for correction. Our juvenile courts have for some forty years or more become increasingly aware of the individual needs, emotional, physical, intellectual, of children who are brought before them. In this study Dr. Levy has approached the problem from an original angle. She selected from the New York Children's Court a homogeneous group of boys to receive rather more intensive individual therapy than a probation officer has time or perhaps skill to apply. As a psychologist she developed with the children selected for this experiment a relationship which produced changes in their outlook and understanding of their own situation. Her emphasis on adjusting the child to his environment when the environment is not capable of much modification is a practical one. Although the number of cases in this study is not statistically significant, no one reading Dr. Levy's account of the experiment can doubt that she has made a contribution to our insight into the handling of such problems"--Foreword. Inhalt: "The present volume represents the work of a number of years of thorough study and application of the Rorschach Test at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital. The authors present their material in a very simple, clear, and readable book. It is a practical book for one interested in using, or learning to use, the Rorschach. The subject is presented in a carefully organized fashion and without lengthy discussions of the theoretical points. The beginner who has no knowledge of the subject, as well as the more advanced student, will find the book well suited to his needs. Detailed case material is used to illustrate points. Thus the book gives one not only an excellent opportunity to acquire the fundamental ideas and working methods of the Rorschach Test, but ways to make possible a more subtle differentiation in the interpretation and diagnosis of mental diseases."
