Content: "The rapid changes which have occurred in the content of social psychology, both in its concepts and in its data, have seemed to me to justify the appearance of a new textbook in the field. More particularly, the increasing concern of psychologists with other cultures has suggested that there might be some interest in an attempt at integration between psychology and ethnology. This integration is by no means complete, but I have the hope that some at least of the findings of ethnology and comparative sociology have been brought within the psychologist's frame of reference. At the same time the traditional content of social psychology has also been taken into consideration, although to a somewhat reduced extent because of the inclusion of materials from neighboring social sciences. With the increasing variety of courses offered in psychology, it is inevitable that social psychology will trespass upon related fields. As far as the present text is concerned, this is true especially of the sections dealing with Differential Psychology and with Personality. In spite of possible overlapping it was decided that these materials do belong legitimately within the scope of social psychology. References have been appended rather liberally at the end of each chapter for the convenience of the student or teacher interested in supplementary reading"--Preface. Content: "A clearly expressed, and simply written study of the basic problems of Social Psychology. Stress is laid throughout upon the cultural aspects of the subject"--Book
