David Motadel stellt erstmals umfassend die Islampolitik des NS-Regimes dar. Eingehend untersucht der Autor die deutsche Propaganda in den muslimisch besiedelten Kriegsgebieten; detailliert beschreibt er die politische Indoktrinierung Zehntausender Muslime, die in der Wehrmacht und SS kämpften. Der Historiker David Motadel vergegenwärtigt den enormen Einfluss des Zweiten Weltkriegs auf die islamische Welt und eröffnet so ein neues Verständnis von Religion und Politik im 20. Jahrhundert.
