Abstract:
L’urgence écologique est entrée dans une nouvelle phase : celle où les effondrements ne sont plus des prévisions ni des phénomènes lointains, mais une réalité meurtrière vécue désormais dans les pays occidentaux, prouvant que toutes leurs richesses et leurs moyens techniques ne les en préservent pas plus que les autres. L’Église a le devoir moral de réagir en tant qu’institution, visible et particulièrement scrutée, revendiquant une expertise en humanité ; une réaction tant vis-à-vis de la société, laïque et désormais largement non-chrétienne, que de ses propres membres, plutôt que de laisser le sujet dans l’ombre et à l’appréciation individuelle, comme s’il n’était pas brûlant.
