Sie bekommt zwei Kinder, die Verbindung ist zunehmend geprägt von Streitigkeiten. Auch die Kinder leiden unter dem Vater. Violeta hat mit ihrem Bruder eine Firma aufgebaut und kann die Familie problemlos ernähren. Gemeinsam müssen sie große Schwierigkeiten überstehen als die sozialistische Regierung gestürzt wird und die Zeit der Militärdiktatur beginnt. - Isabel Allende, die im August 80 Jahre alt wird, hat wieder einen wunderbaren Roman abgeliefert (vgl. "Dieser weite Weg", ID-A 34/19), den man nicht mehr aus der Hand legen möchte. Gehört unbedingt in jede Bibliothek, dieses Jahr ist mit besonders hoher Nachfrage zu rechnen.
