Nachdem Reent Reents, Privatdetektiv der Wilhelmshavener "Haven-Detektei", der Millionär mit Hundephobie, seinen ersten spektakulären Fall ("Friesenschwindel", ID-A 22/17) gelöst hat, erhält er einen verzweifelten Anruf von Susi Schöpski. Sie vermisst ihre 23-jährige Tochter Sassi, die sich der ominösen Sekte "Ebbe und Flut" angeschlossen hat und dem Guru Heinz Meins verfallen ist. Großherzig erbarmt sich Reent und schaut sich den Laden einmal an. Im Ort der Ruhe und Gelassenheit schwimmt jedoch eine Leiche im Pool und Reent wird ganz schnell ausgeknockt. Hier ist offensichtlich etwas faul und die bewährte Mannschaft mit dem friesischen Hundecoach Ubbo Dose und dem Psychologen Deuter ermittelt an verschiedenen Fronten. Walburga, die Frau des Gurus, gilt als Reinkarnation der sagenhaften Seewiefkens, der Meerjungfrau und Herrscherin über Ostfriesland. Die durchtriebene Schöne hat allerdings ganz weltliche Pläne...
