Die hohe Arbeitslosigkeit und der Geburtenrückgang bewirken finanzielle Schwierigkeiten in der Sozialversicherung und damit auch in der Alterssicherung. Die Finanz- und Sozialpolitik versucht daher, die betriebliche Altersversorgung und die private Vorsorge attraktiver zu gestalten. Da aber die Europäische Union noch weit von einem harmonisierten Steuer- und Sozialrecht entfernt ist, sind die in zunehmendem Maße global agierenden Unternehmen mit der Herausforderung konfrontiert, ihre betriebliche Altersversorgung den jeweiligen nationalen Rahmenbedingungen anzupassen. Am Beispiel eines multinationalen Unternehmens mit Sitz in Deutschland und Tochterunternehmen in Frankreich, Großbritannien und den Niederlanden untersucht Christoph Poplutz die Möglichkeiten einer supranationalen betrieblichen Altersversorgung. Im Mittelpunkt seiner Analyse stehen Gruppenversicherungen.
