Er beinhaltet neben Senfls berühmter Überarbeitung des Ave, Maria … Virgo serena von Josquin Desprez, drei für die Zeit außergewöhnlich groß besetzte und mutmaßlich für Staatsereignisse komponierte achtstimmige Motetten, wie auch mehrere Kompositionen die als reine Kanons konzipiert wurden und Senfls lebenslanges Interesse an kanonischen Strukturen unter Beweis stellen.
