Series Statement: Methods in Molecular Biology, 645
Content: Inositol, in its native or lipid derived forms, serves as a master building block which, when phosphorylated, leads to the construction of more than 30 unique isomeric forms that are employed in vital but diverse regulatory roles in cells. In Inositol Phosphates and Lipids: Methods and Protocols, expert researchers introduce the basic methodological tools to measure inositol lipids and phosphates and also describe new approaches that have become available in the last 10 years, including RNA-silencing and the use of fluorescently labeled PH-domains to measure inositides in real-time in live cells, new sensitive methods to measure mass of both phosphates and lipids, as well as protocols involving inositol pyrophosphates. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology™ series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and notes sections, detailing tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and cutting-edge, Inositol Phosphates and Lipids: Methods and Protocols compiles many of the techniques that underscore phosphorylated inositol cell biology in one convenient guide.

Content: China, the world's sixth largest economy, has recently joined the rules-based international trading system. What are the implications of this accession? Leading scholars and practitioners from the US, Europe, China, Australia and Japan argue that China's membership will affect the WTO's decision-making, dispute resolution and rule-based structures. It will also spur legal and economic reform, have far-reaching social, political and distributional consequences in China, facilitate a new role for China in international geo-political affairs, and alter the shape, structure and content of the international trading system as a whole. Of interest to scholars of China, as well as trade lawyers and economists.

Content: Historically batch control systems were designed individually to match a specific arrangement of plant equipment. They lacked the ability to convert to new products without having to modify the control systems, and did not lend themselves to integration with manufacturing management systems. Practical Batch Management Systems explains how to utilize the building blocks and arrange the structures of modern batch management systems to produce flexible schemes suitable for automated batch management, with the capability to be reconfigured to use the same plant equipment in different combinati

Content: Statistical theory is primarily a product of the twentieth century. The prevailing school of thought builds on the frequentist philosophy developed by R.A. Fisher, the eminent biological theorist and experimentalist. Fisher's philosophy has been so thoroughly embraced that it has been labeled the ""classical"" approach, even though the alternative Bayesian philosophy antedates it by more than a century. Frequentist thinking has prevailed over Bayesian primarily because of the practical difficulty of fitting all but the simplest Bayesian models. Wildlife statistics has been almost entirely cond

    Series Statement: Yeats Annual
Content: This number of Yeats Annual collects the essays resulting from the University College Cork/ESB International Annual W. B. Yeats Lectures Series (2003-08) by Roy Foster, Warwick Gould, John Kelly, Paul Muldoon, Bernard O'Donoghue and Helen Vendler. Those that were available in pamphlet form are now collectors' items, but here is the complete series. These revised essays cover such themes as Yeats and the Refrain, Yeats as a Love Poet, Yeats, Ireland and Europe, the puzzles he created and solved with his art of poetic sequences, and his long and crucial interaction with the emerging T. S. Eliot. The series was inaugurated by a study of Yeats and his Books, which marked the gift to the Boole Library, Cork, of Dr Eamonn Cantwell's collection of rare editions of books by Yeats (here catalogued by Crónán Ó Doibhlin). Many of the volume's fifty-six plates offer images of artists' designs and resulting first editions. This bibliographical theme is continued with Colin Smythe's census of surviving copies of Yeats's earliest separate publication, Mosada (1886) and a resultant piece by Warwick Gould on that dramatic poem's source in the legend of The Phantom Ship. John Kelly reveals Yeats's ghost-writing for Sarah Allgood; Geert Lernout discovers the source for Yeats's 'Tulka'; Günther Schmigalle unearths his surprising connexions with American communist colonists in Virginia; while Deirdre Toomey edits some new letters to the French anarchist, Auguste Hamon-all providing new annotation for standard editions. The volume is rounded with review essays by Colin McDowell (on A Vision, and Berkeley, Hone and Yeats), shorter reviews of current studies by Michael Edwards, Jad Adams and Deirdre Toomey, and obituaries of Jon Stallworthy (Nicolas Barker) and Katharine Worth (Richard Cave).
