Die Palästinenserin Sahira lebt mit ihren Eltern in Berlin. Mit 16 läuft sie von Zuhause fort, steigt als Hip-Hop-Sister in der Kreuzberger Musikszene auf, singt und schreibt Songs. Sie lernt den Rapper Markus kennen und führt mit ihm ein Leben zwischen durchtanzten Clubnächten, wachsendem Erfolg in der Musikszene Berlins und Einhalten muslimischer Regeln, wie das Fasten im Ramadan. Sahira bringt einen Sohn zur Welt und trennt sich in aller Freundschaft von ihrem Mann. Dann kommt sie von ihrem Weg ab, wird glühende Verfechterin eines extremen Islam und verwirft alles, was ihr Leben und ihr Glück bisher ausmachte. Ihr Leben wird ab jetzt geprägt von Unterdrückung und Frauenhass im Namen der Religion. Mühsam befreit sie sich aus dieser Situation. Parallel erzählt sie die Geschichte von ihrem engen Freund Deso Dogg, der traurige Berühmtheit als Rapper erlangte, zum Islam konvertierte und als Terrorist in Syrien starb. Sahira erzählt ihre Geschichte wie einen schnörkellosen Rapsong, in einer Sprache, die viele Jugendliche ansprechen und deshalb Hemmschwellen gegenüber dem Thema abbauen wird.
