Da Telemann von der Orgel über verschiedene Blas- und Streichinstrumente bis zur Cister (ein Zupfinstrument) zahlreiche Instrumente selbst spielte, konnte er sehr "instrumentenspezifisch" komponieren. Außergewöhnliche Kombinationen von Instrumenten tragen zusammen mit der unglaublichen stilistischen Bandbreite zu der großen Vielschichtigkeit und Abwechslung bei, die auf dieser CD mit der renommierten Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin hörbar zum Ausdruck kommt. Das auf historische Aufführungspraxis spezialisierte Ensemble interpretiert u.a. das Konzert D-Dur für 3 Trompeten, Pauke, 2 Oboen und Streicher, das Konzert F-Dur für Mandoline, Hackbrett, Harfe und Streicher, das D-Dur-Konzert für 3 Hörner, Violine und Streicher, ein Konzert für 2 Flöten, Calchedon (eine besondere Langhalslaute) und Orchester in h-Moll und weitere Konzerte mit ungewöhnlichen Instrumentenkombinationen. Da kommt keine Langeweile auf, schon gar nicht, wenn es so mitreißend wie hier interpretiert wird. Eine bessere Hommage zu Telemanns 250. Todestag kann man sich kaum denken! Für alle.
