Ralf Schmitz ist mehrfach ausgezeichneter Comedian und Schauspieler. 2008 erschien sein Buch "Schmitz' Katze" (BA 11/08). In diesem Band widmet er sich seinen Liebsten, nämlich seiner Mama und dem Rest der Schmitz'schen Verwandtschaft. Kurzweilige Geschichten handeln zunächst von klein Ralf (illustriert mit Fotos, wobei sich hier schon eine Macke von Mama zeigt, nämlich ihren Sohn auf dem Foto anzukreuzen, selbst wenn nur eine Person auf dem Foto zu sehen ist), später, und hier noch witziger, vom großen Ralf und wie der die Eigenarten seiner Mutter erlebt. Da geht es etwa um Mamas Umgang mit dem Mobiltelefon oder die Frage "wie man ein Telefonat mit Mama beendet" oder darum, wie Mama einen Einkaufszettel von ihrem Sohn interpretiert.
