In Form von Zettelbriefchen, E-Mail-Chat und Tagebucheintragungen lässt die Autorin die Leserinnen am komplizierten Liebesleben zweier amerikanischer Teenager teilhaben. Im hinteren Teil des Buches werden dann die klassischen Erzählpassagen länger. Unterschiedliche Schriftbilder stehen für Helena und Hermia und die jeweilige Form des Informationsaustausches. Anfangs etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig liest sich das Ganze am Ende recht flüssig; die "typische" Teenagersprache macht die Sache lebendig. Beim Finale im New Yorker Central Park haben sich schließlich die richtigen Pärchen gefunden. Ein pfiffiger Liebesroman für alle Bibliotheken. . - Die Freundinnen Helena und Hermia sind begeistert: Die Theater-AG der Athenwood Highschool plant die Aufführung von Romeo und Julia.
