Die Auseinandersetzung mit Fragen der Strategischen Unternehmensführung nahm in Theorie und Praxis der letzten Jahre breiten Raum ein. Fast schon bedauerlich ist allerdings, daß der von Fachvertretern geforderte "Multiparadigmatische Ansatz" bzw. "Methodenpluralismus" bislang weitgehend ein Lippenbekenntnis blieb, da nahezu alle Forschungsarbeiten bzw. Praxisaktivitäten auf die grundlegenden Arbei ten der Industrieökonomik bzw. die Standardwerke von PORTER zurückzuführen sind. Zugleich erfuhren die dort erarbeiteten Erkenntnisse eine gewisse Schematisierung und Vereinfachung, so daß die daraus resultierenden Analyseraster und Strategie empfehlungen zu hemdsärmeligen Portfoliorastern und generischen Strategien ver kamen, deren Prämissen kaum hinterfragt und deren Umsetzungen z.T. Mitschuld am derzeitigen desolaten Zustand westlicher Industrienationen tragen. Letztendlich gipfelt der Vorwurf an diese Forschungsrichtung darin, daß Empfeh lungen zum Aufbau von Wettbewerbsvorteilen für Branchen (Schaffung von Markt zutrittsschranken) bzw. für Strategische Gruppen (Schaffung von Mobilitätsbarrieren) gegeben werden, ohne auf die Besonderheiten der jeweiligen Unternehmen zu ach ten. Insbesondere werde der Prozeß vernachlässigt, der im Unternehmen zu durch laufen ist, um Wettbewerbsvorteile arn Markt zu erlangen bzw. aufrechtzuerhalten. Dem Paradigma der Industrieökonomik "Structure-Conduct-Performance" stellen die Vertreter der "ressourcenorientierten Unternehmensführung" daher als Gegenhypo these das "Resource-Conduct-Performance"-Paradigma gegenüber, d.h. nicht die Marktstruktur determiniere die Wettbewerbsstrategien und den langfristigen Erfolg, und allein die effiziente Erarbeitung und Ausnutzung unternehmens sondern einzig spezifischer Ressourcen
