Content: This book provides valuable insights into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) through a comprehensive examination of Vision 2030, an ambitious economic plan by the KSA to reinvent and diversify its economy from a heavy dependence on hydrocarbon to knowledge-based resources. Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia: Vision 2030 discusses how this initiative will assist the government in achieving its envisioned goals by creating a culture of research, innovation and entrepreneurship. It studies the current state ofthe fieldas well as new policies and reforms in Saudi Arabia which encompass education systems, ICT infrastructure and a vibrant innovation landscape that includes academia, the public and private sectors and civil society. The authors present a number of real-life case studies as a model of inspiration for cross-sector development. The book provides a source of inspiration for other nations in studying the KSA's determined and ambitious plans as a country in a transitioning journey, from a natural resources-based economy towards a knowledge-based country with considerable diversification in all sectors. This book is a useful reference for students, researchers and policy and decision-makers in understanding Saudi innovation and the economic diversification ecosystem

Content: Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is one of the Mega Regional Trade agreements with the main objective of liberalized trade among the fast-growing Asia Pacific member countries. CPTPP (formerly TTP) members consist of eleven countries in wake of the secession of the United States (US). After Brexit, the United Kingdom (UK) government seeking new trade agreements with a major focus on trade in goods between the UK and non-EU countries. The UK recently applies to join CPTPP. Against this backdrop, this research quantitively seeks the economic impact of the UK joining CPTPP using the Global computable general equilibrium (CGE) approach. Results show that if United Kingdom joins CPTPP, there is optimistic and encouraging growth in UK’s economy. However, countries like China, EU-27, India, and Brazil have adverse implications. This research indicates that UK membership in CPTPP would not only boost UK economy but also result in an expansion in real factor return of the UK resulting in higher investment and employment in the country

Content: Developing countries are facing the problem of environmental degradation. Environmental degradation is caused by the use of non-renewable energy consumptions for economic growth but the consequences of environmental degradation cannot be ignored. This primary purpose of this study is to investigate the nexus between energy consumption, economic growth and CO2 emission in Pakistan by using annual time series data from 1965 to 2015. The estimated results of ARDL indicate that energy consumption and economic growth increase the CO2 emissions in Pakistan both in short run and long run. Based on the estimated results it is recommended that policy maker in Pakistan should adopt and promote such renewable energy sources that will help to meet the increased demand for energy by replacing old traditional energy sources such as coal, gas, and oil. Renewable energy sources are reusable that can reduce the CO2 emissions and also ensure sustainable economic development of Pakistan.
