Abstract:
The geometry of wave phenomena such as observed on the surface of flowing heavy liquid in case of a sharply localised harmonic disturbance is explained in terms of the general laws of wave propagation in anisotropic dispersive media. Conceptions similar to those used in the optics of anisotropic media are introduced in the discussion.
