Februar 1943: Vor einem als "gesondertes Sammellager" bezeichneten Gebäude in der Berliner Rosenstraße spielen sich unfassbare Szenen ab: Überwiegend nichtjüdische Ehefrauen und Mütter demonstrieren lautstark und gewaltfrei für die Freilassung ihrer jüdischen Ehemänner und Söhne - mit Erfolg. 60 Jahre nach dem einzigen öffentlichen Widerstand Berliner Frauen sind neben dem Film "Rosenstraße" von Margarethe von Trotta auch zwei Bücher erschienen, die von diesem einzigartigen Akt weiblicher Zivilcourage, von Mut, Liebe und Verlust erzählen und über die Hintergründe des Zwangsarbeitseinsatzes der jüdischen Bevölkerung Berlins aufklären. Der DuMont Verlag, das Jüdische Museum Berlin und der Nicolai Verlag laden daher am Freitag, dem 19. September 2003 - dem Tag nach dem Filmstart von "Rosenstraße" - zur Buchpräsentation in das Jüdische Museum ein. Vorgestellt wird das Buch "Rosenstraße - ein Film von Margarethe von Trotta. Die Geschichte. Die Hintergründe" von Thilo Wydra und "Jüdische Zwangsarbeiter bei Ehrich & Graetz, Berlin-Treptow" herausgegeben von Aubrey Pomerance. Podiumsteilnehmer sind unter anderem die Autoren bzw. Herausgeber, die Regisseurin Margarethe von Trotta sowie Gerhard Braun und Ruth Gumpel, ehemals Zwangsarbeiter bei Ehrich & Graetz.
