Harry ist froh, dem qualvollen Dasein bei Onkel, Tante und verwöhntem Cousin entronnen zu sein. Er lernt Freundschaft, aber auch Feindschaft unter den Schülern, sowie Geborgenheit kennen und erlebt das lustigste, spannendste und abenteuerlichste Jahr in seinem Leben. Es gelingt (natürlich!) ihm, den bösen Voldemort, der sich der schwarzen Magie (in Hogwarts streng verboten) verschrieb, endgültig auszuschalten.
