Der damals vorherrschende Goldstandard, also die Koppelung der Landeswährungen an den Goldpreis, übertrug die amerikanische Rezession auf die ganze Welt. Eichborn plädiert daher für eine Abschaffung des Goldstandards sowie für eine Reform des Kreditwesens, um die Krise in den Griff zu bekommen
