"Porträtfilm über den Dichter Thomas Brasch (1945-2001) als eine Art letzte Liebeserklärung an einen verstorbenen Freund. Basis sind Interviews des Regisseurs sowie Film- und Fernsehausschnitte, vor allem aber nachgelassene DV-Kassetten, auf denen Brasch seinen Alltag sowie den zunehmenden Wahn und körperlichen Verfall nach 1990 dokumentierte. Insgesamt wirkt der Film mehr gefällig als sperrig. Braschs Credo, dass Kunst nicht die Lösung sei, sondern "der bleibende Schmerz, der spüren lässt, dass man am Leben ist", findet in dem Porträt nur teilweise eine sinnliche Entsprechung."
