1965 begannen in Zürich die Dreharbeiten zu Max Frischs (1911 - 1991) sogenannter Filmskizze "Zürich - Transit": Ein Mann entdeckt, dass er irrtümlich für tot gehalten wird, doch statt seiner Frau und seinen Angehörigen mitzuteilen, dass er noch lebt, entschliesst er sich, die Situation ausnützen und ein neues Leben zu beginnen. Die Dreharbeiten mussten zweimal nach wenigen Drehtagen abgebrochen werden, weil sowohl der erste Regisseur Erwin Leiser wie der zweite, Bernhard Wicki, nach kurzer Zeit schwer erkrankten. Mit einem Verlust von mehreren hunderttausend Franken wurde das Projekt begraben, die gedrehten Szenen verschwanden in einem Archivkeller und wurden bisher noch nie öffentlich gezeigt. Nun sind sie wieder aufgetaucht und werden erstmals veröffentlicht, ebenso wie eine szenische Lesung des Autors zum gleichen Werk vor Publikum in Berlin. Die Dokumentation "Max Frisch: Zürich - Transit" von Matthias von Gunten erzählt die Geschichte des Projekts nach, das Max Frisch einmal mehr im Banne seines Grundthemas zeigt: der Frage, nach der eigenen Identität.
