Die Studie analysiert quantitative und organisatorische Aspekte russischer Rüstungsexporte im Jahr 1992 und zeigt mögliche Entwicklungen auf. Das Welthandelsvolumen für konventionelle Waffen sank zwischen 1987 und 1991 von etwa 46 Mrd. auf etwa 22 Mrd. US-Dollar, sowjetische Rüstungsexporte sanken überproportional von 17,7 Mrd. auf 3,9 Mrd. Dollar. 1992 wurden große Anstrengungen zur Ausweitung russischer Rüstungsexporte unternommen. Hauptabnehmer waren 1992 China, Indien, der Iran und die Türkei. In der Perspektive ist eine Vergrößerung des russischen Marktanteils zu erwarten.
