Der Reihe nach lässt Manfred Mai 26 lustige Bären aufmarschieren, deren Anfangsbuchstabe jeweils den nächsten Buchstaben des Alphabets verrät. Der 3. Bär ist folglich der Clownbär, gefolgt vom Dummbär bis zum Xaverbär, Yogabär und schließlich dem winzigen Zwergbär. Die Geschichte ist schlicht, steckt aber voller witziger Dialoge und erhält zusätzlichen Reiz durch die ausgesprochen originellen Illustrationen von Susanne Schulte. Da sitzt zum Beispiel der kleine Eisbär weinend unter einem Baum. Aufmerksame Leser erkennen ihn, obwohl es nirgends steht - es muss Lars, der kleine Eisbär sein, und der Clownbär tröstet ihn: "In der Schule lernst du bestimmt, wie du zurück nach Hause findest." Das unterhaltsame Bären-ABC mit einer netten Schlusspointe - die Bären landen in einer Menschenschule - ist für Leseanfänger sehr gern empfohlen.. - Ameisenbär und Brillenbär wollen in die Bärenschule gehen, die angeblich hinter dem Wald liegt. Schon bald schließen sich ihnen Clownbär, Dummbär, Eisbär und Faulbär an und schließlich sind 26 höchst verwunderliche Bären gemeinsam unterwegs, auf die am Ende eine Überraschung wartet. Ab 7.
