Abstract: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in the treatment of complex diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. However, it is hard to identify their modes of action on account of their multiple components. The present study aims to evaluate the effects of Dan-Shen-Yin (DSY) granules on hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension (HPH), and then to decipher the molecular mechanisms of DSY. Systematic pharmacology was employed to identify the targets of DSY on HPH. Furthermore, core genes were identified by constructing a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and analyzed by Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes (KEGG) analysis. Related genes and pathways were verified using a hypoxia-induced mouse model and hypoxia-treated pulmonary artery cells. Based on network pharmacology, 147 potential targets of DSY on HPH were found, constructing a PPI network, and 13 hub genes were predicted. The results showed that the effect of DSY may be closely associated with AKT serine/threonine kinase 1 (AKT1), signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), and HIF-1 signaling pathways, as well as biological processes such as cell proliferation. Consistent with network pharmacology analysis, experiments in vivo demonstrated that DSY could prevent the development of HPH in a hypoxia-induced mouse model and alleviate pulmonary vascular remodeling. In addition, inhibition of STAT3/HIF-1α/VEGF and FAK/AKT signaling pathways might serve as mechanisms. Taken together, the network pharmacology analysis suggested that DSY exhibited therapeutic effects through multiple targets in the treatment of HPH. The inferences were initially confirmed by subsequent in vivo and in vitro studies. This study provides a novel perspective for studying the relevance of TCM and disease processes and illustrates the advantage of this approach and the multitargeted anti-HPH effect of DSY.

Abstract: Impact coal cutting is a new kind of coal cutting method, totally different from conventional coal cutting in mechanism. To increase the blocky coal in long-wall coal face with low energy consumption, impact coal cutting is a good way to go. In this paper, an analysis of energy dissipation in impact coal cutting using stress wave is carried out. Firstly, the production, transmission and dissipation of energy are analyzed during the process of coal impact cutting, and the energy distribution area is also obtained. Secondly, the transmission rule of stress and energy are studied by the method of stress wave; through measuring the amplitude attenuation quantity of the first and any other cycle in oscillograph, the attenuation radio can be worked out. Lastly, the propagation process of energy was analyzed based on the impacting rule and propagation rule of energy; the relation between impacting consumption of energy and minimal irreversibly lost energy is expounded. It is pointed out that if the coal block is destroyed, the impacting consumption of energy must be more than the minimal irreversibly lost energy.

Abstract: The weak lighning protection performance of transmission lines should be improved in complicate climate and complex topography as well as frequent lightning activities in Sichuan Area. In order to improve stability of power system, it is very important to improve the assessment and rebuilding abilitiy of lightning protection for transmission lines. In this paper, we researched the lightning protection of transmission lines by the technology and strategy of differentiated lightning protection. We analyzed the distribution law of lightning flashovers for tower span, landform, lightning protection measures and so on. The analysis results can provide a macroscopic guidance for differentiated lightning protection work.

Abstract: In this paper, fault diagnosis model of grounding grid is established combining electrical network theory with sensitivity analysis. A new method which is used to select the node pairs to calculate the corrosion situation of grounding grid is presented. Based on this method, the fault branch of grounding grid can be efficiently judged through topology diagram and port resistance without power failure and the excavation of large area. Field test was carried out at 220 kV electrical substations using the diagnosis method. The conductors diagnosed as severely corroded was excavated. The result was identical to the diagnosis results, indicating that this diagnosis method has engineering practicality.

Abstract: Dimeric natural products are widespread in plants and microorganisms, which usually have complex structures and exhibit greater bioactivities than their corresponding monomers. In this study, we report five new dimeric tetrahydroxanthones, aculeaxanthones A−E ( 4−8 ), along with the homodimeric tetrahydroxanthone secalonic acid D ( 1 ), chrysoxanthones B and C ( 2 and 3 ), and 4−4’-secalonic acid D ( 9 ), from different fermentation batches of the title fungus. Methods A part of the culture was added to a total of 60 flasks containing 300 ml each of number II fungus liquid medium and culture 4 weeks in a static state at 28˚C. The liquid phase (18 L) and mycelia was separated from the fungal culture by filtering. A crude extract was obtained from the mycelia by ultrasound using acetone. To obtain a dry extract (18 g), the liquid phase combined with the crude extract were further extracted by EtOAc and concentrated in vacuo. The MIC of anaerobic bacteria was examined by a broth microdilution assay. To obtain MICs for aerobic bacteria, the agar dilution streak method recommended in Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute document (CLSI) M07-A10 was used. Compounds 1−9 was tested against the Bel-7402, A-549 and HCT-116 cell lines according to MTT assay. Results and Discussion The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the base of 1D and 2D NMR and HR-ESIMS data, and the absolute configurations of the new xanthones 4−8 were determined by conformational analysis and time-dependent density functional theory-electronic circular dichroism (TDDFT-ECD) calculations. Compounds 1–9 were tested for cytotoxicity against the Bel-7402, A549, and HCT-116 cancer cell lines. Of the dimeric tetrahydroxanthone derivatives, only compound 6 provided cytotoxicity effect against Bel-7402 cell line (IC50, 1.96 µM). Additionally, antimicrobial activity was evaluated for all dimeric tetrahydroxanthones, including four Gram-positive bacteria including Enterococcus faecium ATCC 19434, Bacillus subtilis 168, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and MRSA USA300; four Gram-negative bacteria, including Helicobacter pylori 129, G27, as well as 26,695, and multi drug-resistant strain H. pylori 159, and one Mycobacterium M. smegmatis ATCC 607. However, only compound 1 performed activities against H. pylori G27, H. pylori 26695, H. pylori 129, H. pylori 159, S. aureus USA300, and B. subtilis 168 with MIC values of 4.0, 4.0, 2.0, 2.0, 2.0 and 1.0 μg/mL, respectively.

Abstract: The Lijiang 2.4-meter Telescope (LJT), the largest common-purpose optical telescope in China, has been available to the worldwide astronomical community since 2008. It is located at the Gaomeigu site, Lijiang Observatory (LJO), in the southwest of China. The site has very good observational conditions. During its 10-year operation, several instruments have been equipped on the LJT. Astronomers can perform both photometric and spectral observations. The main scientific goals of LJT include recording photometric and spectral evolution of supernovae, reverberation mapping of active galactic nuclei, investigating the physical properties of binary stars and near-earth objects (comets and asteroids), and identification of exoplanets and all kinds of transients. Until now, the masses of 41 high accretion rate black holes have been measured, and more than 168 supernovae have been identified by the LJT. More than 190 papers related to the LJT have been published. In this paper, the general observation conditions of the Gaomeigu site is introduced at first. Then, the structure of the LJT is described in detail, including the optical, mechanical, motion and control system. The specification of all the instruments and some detailed parameters of the YFOSC is also presented. Finally, some important scientific results and future expectations are summarized.

Abstract: The concept of skyrmion is proposed by Tony Skyrme, a British particle physicist, to describe a state of particles as a topological soliton. Magnetic skyrmion is a novel spin structure with topological behavior, whose size is on a nanometer scale. The space between skyrmions is tunable from a few nanometers to micrometer. Magnetic skyrmion can be stable in a large temperature range, from lower temperatures, to room temperature, and even to higher temperature. The materials with magnetic skyrmions include not only low temperature B20-type ferromagnets with centrosymmetry breaking and weak ferromagnets with helical magnetic ordering, but also the hexagonal MnNiGa alloy and ferromagnetic multilayers over room temperature. By using topological spin structure of skyrmions, an electrical current can be applied to driving or flipping the skyrmions, similar to the spin transfer torque effect in spin-valves and magnetic tunnel junctions. The critical current density is on the order of 102 A/cm2, which is five orders lower than that in magnetic multilayered structures such as 107 A/cm2. This critical value is much lower than the channel current density in Si-based semiconductor technology, thus leading to great potential applications in the future magnetic information devices. In this review paper, we first introduce the discovery, a brief development history of magnetic skyrmions. Then, we summarize the materials with skyrmion spin structures, focusing on the key physical properties. Finally, we mention the recent progress of the multi-field (such as magnetic field, electrical current, and temperature) control on magnetic skyrmions in hexagonal MnNiGa alloy and Pt/Co/Ta magnetic multilayers, together with the creation, annihilation, and dynamic behavior of skyrmions.

Abstract: The Coude Echelle Spectrograph (CES) was originally mounted on Xinglong 2.16 m telescope in 1994. When the High Resolution Fiber-fed Spectrograph (HRS) was commissioned at Xinglong 2.16 m telescope, the red path of CES was moved to Lijiang 1.8 m telescope, following some redesign and reinstallation. The CES of Lijiang 1.8 m telescope has the spectral resolution ( R = λ /Δ λ ) ranging from 20000 to 50000 corresponding to different slit widths. With a 2k × 2k PI CCD, CES has a wavelength coverage between 570 nm to 1030 nm. In particular, the resolution of 37000 at 0.5 mm slit corresponds to 1.3″ on the sky. The limiting magnitude is V = 11.5 with the use of the tip-tilt feedback system, and the S/N is about 40 for 1 hour exposure at 600 nm ( R = 37000). During the installation of CES, the tip-tilt mirror technology had successfully fulfilled high precision guiding and tracking for high resolution spectral observation and significantly improved the observation efficiency.

Abstract: Magnetic imaging technology based on photo-emission electron microscopy (PEEM) has become an important and powerful tool for observing the magnetic domain in spintronics. The PEEM can get access to real-time imaging with high spatial resolution and is greatly sensitive to the spectroscopic information directly from the magnetic films and surfaces through photoemission process with variable excitation sources. Moreover, the breakthrough in the deep ultraviolet (DUV) laser technology makes it possible to realize domain imaging without the limitation of synchrotron radiation facilities or the direct excitation of photoelectrons due to the high enough photon energy of the source in the current threshold excitation study. In this review article, the deep ultraviolet photo-emission electron microscopy system is first introduced briefly. Then, a detailed study of the magnetic domain observation for the surface of L1〈sub〉0〈/sub〉-FePt films by the DUV-PEEM technique is presented, where a spatial resolution as high as 43.2 nm is successfully achieved. The above results clearly indicate that the DUV-PEEM reaches a level equivalent to the level reached by X-ray photoemission imaging technique. Finally, a series of recent progress of perpendicular FePt magnetic thin films obtained by the DUV-PEEM technique is provided in detail. For example, a stepped Cr seeding layer is used to form the large-area epitaxial FePt films with (001) and (111) two orientations, where magnetic linear dichroism (MLD) with large asymmetry is observed in the transition area of two phases. The signal of MLD is 4.6 times larger than that of magnetic circular dichroism. These results demonstrate that the magnetic imaging technology based on DUV-PEEM with excellent resolution ability will potentially become an important method to study magnetic materials in the future.
